Andrew Edwards
B.M USC; Piano Performance

Andrew Edwards received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California (Thornton School of Music), where he studied with Jeffrey Kahane. Andrew received the Undergraduate Bachelor of Music Performance Award in Piano upon graduation at USC. In addition, he was recipient of the USC Keyboard Studies Ensemble Award. Performing his first full-length solo recital at the age of 13, Andrew has maintained an active performance schedule as both soloist and collaborative pianist. He was an MTAC Young Artist Guild winner, and as a result, was invited to perform many recitals throughout the Southern California region. Andrew has been piano concerto soloist with the Orange County Symphony, the Southern California Philharmonic, and he was a featured piano soloist in Olivier Messiaen’s Oiseaux Exotiques with the USC Thornton Wind Symphony.
Andrew has been a recipient of several awards and honors, including the National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner Award and the Young Musician’s Foundation Scholarship. He received top honors in competitions including first place in the CAPMT State Competition, the Glendale Piano Competition, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival Concerto Competition and the Southern California Bach Festival Complete Works Program.
Andrew has participated in masterclasses with Eduardo Delgado, Antoinette Perry, Sergey Schepkin, Dmitri Rachmanov, Stewart Gordon and Lidia Boguslavsky. Studying piano since the age of seven, he was a student of Sofia Zukerman for 10 years before attending USC. In addition to his solo classical piano activities, Andrew enjoys collaborating with other musicians in classical to popular styles, music arranging, electronic music production, and improvisation.
